Endorsment
Historians without Borders was established as a Finnish NGO in 2016 bringing together most history professors from our universities as well as other historians, diplomats and people engaged with history and conflict resolution. From the very beginning, we wanted to mobilize historians from all over the world to bring their knowledge and experience as historians to counter the misuse of history to create and sustain conflicts and hamper efforts at peaceful conflict resolution.
The international network of Historians without Borders was established at the end of the international conference on the Use and abuse of History in Conflicts arranged by us at the University of Helsinki in May 2016.
We are a network bringing together hundreds of historians from all countries and continents, and we are keen to make our initiative into a credible international organization. This would require at least a dozen or so associations sharing the same aims as expressed in the founding declaration of the international network.
We are therefore delighted that Sindh’s Pakistani historians and intellectuals have now taken steps to establish the History without borders: Sindh Pakistan chapter. We extend our congratulations to you and are looking forward to our cooperation in the future. We thank Ms Marvi Memon for chairing this initiative for Historians without Borders Sindh Pakistan Chapter.
